Hungaroring

Budapest, Hungary

The Hungaroring is tight, twisty and relentless, often described as a street circuit without the walls. It sits in a natural bowl outside Budapest and is traditionally one of the hottest races of the year.

What the lap demands

Corner follows corner with barely a straight to recover, which makes this a downforce circuit above all else. Mechanical grip and a responsive front end matter more than engine performance, and the driver never gets a rest.

How the racing unfolds

Passing is genuinely hard. The main straight offers the only realistic opportunity and the corners are too tight to follow closely through, so races here are frequently decided in the pit lane rather than on track.
