Circuit de Monaco

Monte Carlo, Monaco

The slowest, narrowest and most unforgiving circuit of the year, run through the streets of Monte Carlo with barriers on both sides for the entire lap. It has been on the calendar since the beginning and it makes no concession whatsoever to modern car dimensions.

What the lap demands

There is no margin anywhere. The lap is a sequence of blind, cambered, wall-lined corners taken at speeds that would be unremarkable elsewhere but feel enormous with armco a few centimetres away. Mechanical grip and driver confidence outweigh aerodynamic performance.

How the racing unfolds

Overtaking is close to impossible. A significantly faster car will spend an entire race stuck behind a slower one, and the only realistic route past is through the pit stops or someone else’s mistake.
