Circuit
Red Bull Ring
Spielberg, Austria
The Red Bull Ring is short, simple and set in the Styrian hills, with a lap time so brief that the entire field can be covered by a couple of seconds. Its simplicity is deceptive: the elevation change is severe and the margins are tiny.

What the lap demands
A handful of corners joined by uphill straights, which puts power and traction at a premium. The climb out of the first corner and the run to the top of the hill reward engine performance, while the downhill final sector is quicker and more flowing than it looks on a map.
How the racing unfolds
Multiple DRS zones and heavy braking zones at the end of uphill straights make this a strong overtaking venue. Track limits at the exit of the final corners are a recurring source of deleted lap times and post-race penalties.
