Yas Marina Circuit
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Yas Marina closes the season at dusk, starting in daylight and finishing under lights as the track cools and grip improves. Layout revisions removed the tightest sections and opened the circuit up considerably.

What the lap demands
Long straights into slow corners in the first half, then a faster, more flowing run around the marina. The changing track temperature across the event means the car that is quick at the start of the race is not always the one that is quick at the end.
How the racing unfolds
Improved substantially since the layout was revised, with the banked corner and the long straights giving following cars a genuine chance. Still not the easiest place to pass, but no longer the procession it once was.
Picking a Top 5 here
A fairly honest circuit where the season’s established order usually holds, making it one of the safer weekends for a conventional Top 5. The complication is motivation and circumstance: championships are often already settled, and teams sometimes run experimental setups with next season in mind.
